Today, I have chopped off the snowman's nose and make it into my dish. Well, only half of it. Because today's ingredients are:
a. Japanese tofu
b. Winter melon (quarter of a 1 1/2 inch slice)
c. Snowman's nose (a.k.a. carrot in your normal language)
d. Red cili for colour and some sweet taste (red cilis steamed are not hot, they are somewhat sweet)
The preparation for this is also just 5 minutes, very simple. It is for steaming again. The cutting and all were done last night when I got home from work, and the steaming was this morning when I cooked my rice. Just add a dash of olive oil and soy sauce like what we did yesterday and we will have a lovely lunch meal in the afternoon.
Winter melons are usually made into soup, or stir fried. However, I decided to steam because of the simplicity of it. Carrots are sometimes consumed just because of the crunchiness, but how many people actually like chunks of hard carrots with rice for lunch? Once steamed, the sweetness of the carrots will be very obvious and being soft, it will be easy to eat and digest.
The tofu is for the protein for those who thinks in the food-group mindset, but for me it is because it is soft and nice. That's all. If you would like to add in more flavour to it, you may add goji berries to your steaming too. Or peanuts. It is all in your creativity.
