Simple Porridge

1st January 2018 was celebrated with a quiet time at home as my other half had to work. However, we had quite a simple time on 31st December 2017 which ended with a bbq party with lots of food late at night.

Coincidentally, the 1st of January 2018 was also the 15th day of the 11th month from the Chinese lunar calendar. I took the opportunity to become a full-day vegetarian (possible for full day because we did not have dinner together either, he was still working at 10pm). Since I had so much food the night before, it would be appropriate to have a very simple porridge consisting of only frozen mixed veggies and some leftover rice from Friday. No worries, my refrigerator is very cold, hence the leftover rice was still very fresh and edible on a Monday afternoon.

So here is how it looks like:

It may not look the prettiest of all foods, but seriously, my only mistake was to add in some salt to it. I should have left it as it is, without any food. Brought all the ingredients to a boil at the stove until the rice was soft and slightly puffed with all that water and the boiling. It was good.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to let the stomach rest after too much partying. No worries, no chance for diarrhea if you are using fresh ingredients.
