Compensating Cheat Day

It was cheat day yesterday. Weekend is always my cheat day. While I usually cheat with some calorie counts deep within that abyss of my subconscious, yesterday I really let it all go. I had a piece of fried chicken for lunch, with skin!

Feeling so guilty, I went around getting vegetables from that local store (the one that sells the vegetables at a cheap price) and started looking at the greens in there. Within a few minutes, I had gathered my week's lunch supplies and paid only MYR9.80 for them. Possibly this week's supply includes the potential for lunch on Saturday as well, so it will be a 6 days lunch supply instead of 5. Why not, when it is so inexpensive?

So, today I have mustard greens and carrots. All cut to bite size and in the morning, I only added water to it. There is no oil, no salt, no sugar or any flavouring at all, because they already tastes delicious naturally.

It is pretty rewarding to be able to eat this way. I do not deprive myself off my favorite meat foods, but I am also becoming healthier with my high dose of vegetables that are cooked minimally. I have not yet been able to get myself to eat them raw due to the way vegetables are grown these days. However, for this local shop, it will be quite okay because the vegetables are locally farmed, not commercially grown. You know that they are given the amount of soil that you need to wash off during preparations and also the holes in the leaves. They may not look beautiful, but they do taste a lot better than those commercially grown.

Have you started with this no oil, no sugar, no salt vegetarian diet to replace one of your meals each day? If you haven't, why not give it a try. At the very least, it will help you to lose some weight while keeping you healthy.
